As for the exact definition of fixture processing, I think it is an auxiliary device made specifically to solve practical problems or achieve a certain function. Features: simple structure, wide application and various types, which can be either an iron sheet or a piece of equipment. For example, the stopper used for grinding machine can be called clamping fixture; For example, the Hi pot tester can be called a fixture.

 

Fixture processing in the electronic industry can be roughly classified into pressing, bending, cutting, riveting, welding, testing, and fixing. Of course, it can also be divided into ordinary and special categories, depending on personal preferences or professional secretaries. Basically, in addition to electrical measurement and welding, most factories have their own design departments or simply make their own. It can be asserted that where there is an electronic factory, there will be clamps and jigs; Where there is no electronic factory, clamps and jigs are everywhere.

 

In a sense, fixture design can better exercise one’s ability to analyze anomalies and solve problems, while the design ability is weaker and less important than that of complex equipment such as automata.

 

Although the fixture processing is simple and easy to use, its design concept and level can basically reflect a person’s mechanical skills; vice versa. Many functions or problems should be considered in combination with machinery, otherwise it will be difficult for a skillful woman to make bricks without straw or to “beat the crap”. Just like this, colleagues in some departments have no knowledge or half understanding of machinery and even jigs and fixtures. They only ask for or criticize according to their own ideas, sometimes leaving people at a loss. When working in an enterprise, problems can never be solved. In many cases, I feel that I have no way to solve them, but I still have to find ways to accomplish them. Others only look at the results, and only the boss has excuses.

 

Fixture types can be divided into:

 

① Universal fixture. For example, machine vises, chucks, suction cups, dividing heads and rotary workbenches are very versatile and can better adapt to the transformation of processing procedures and processing objects. Their structures have been finalized, and their dimensions and specifications have been serialized. Most of them have become a standard accessory of machine tools.

 

② Special fixture. It is specially designed and manufactured for the clamping needs of certain product parts in a certain process. The service object is specific and highly targeted. Generally, it is designed by the product manufacturer itself. Commonly used are lathe jigs, milling machine jigs, jigs (machine tool jigs for guiding the cutter to drill or ream holes on the workpiece), boring dies (machine tool jigs for guiding the boring cutter bar to bore holes on the workpiece) and traveling jigs (mobile jigs for automatic lines of modular machine tools).

 

③ Adjustable clamp. Special fixture processing that can replace or adjust components.

 

④ Modular fixture. The fixture consists of standardized components with different shapes, specifications and uses, which is suitable for trial production of new products, single piece, small batch production and temporary tasks where products are often replaced.
